Pedal Bikes, Shoot Film photo contest!

We’re excited to team up with the Northwest’s preeminent Rivendell Bicycle Works dealer, RIVelo, on a special collaborative project that could involve your photo work! We’re creating a poster celebrating pedaling bikes and shooting film. Yes, FILM! We're looking for black & white photographs taken on a bike, of a bike, someone riding a bike, someone on their bike taking photos...you get the idea.

Here’s how it’ll work: Submit a sample of your photo entry. A file that can be easily emailed will work fine. If your work is selected, we’ll require a high resolution scan of your piece (4000x6000). Each entry must include the following: Camera used, film used. Bonus points for: Lens, exposure time, f-stop. (All of this information will be included in the fine print on the completed poster.)

The posters will be printed on our 1968 Heidelberg KORD 64 printing press on high quality uncoated 100# text-weight stock. We'll create a litho film neg from your work, and burn & hand develop it to plate, as we do here at Stumptown Printers. The final prints will be 16” x 20” or larger, depending on the photo composition. The posters will be limited edition and numbered.

The Prize: 5 copies of the poster, on-poster photo credit, a "Pedal Bikes, Shoot Film" RIVelo camera bag made in collaboration with Randi Jo Fabrications, and 5 RIVelo “Pedal Bikes, Shoot Film” patches.

Launch Party/Prize Award: Friday, September 28, 2018. 6:00-8:00 pm. Stumptown Printers in Portland, Ore.

Three entries per person. You do not have to be local to Portland, or present at the launch party to qualify or collect prizes. Submissions from afar encouraged! Deadline for submissions: Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 12:01PM.

The Stumptown Printers crew will serve as contest judges.

Again, black & white film entries only, please.

Email your photo submissions to eric@stumptownprinters.com
